As the designer and founder of RAW BAG®, I am excited to share my innovative projects and the raw, authentic concept behind them. I believe in redefining the world of fashion, and if you would like to be part of that change, you are very welcome to this page.
MY FIRST COLLECTION 2020
HANDBAGS
MADE OUT
OF RECYCLED PLASTIC
My first bag collection got published as part of the Vogue Italia “ Towards sustainable fashion” competition, which I ended up winning.
I studied costume design and have also worked extensively on film sets. The time I have spent in film, television and theatre has, to some degree, shaped my aesthetic expression and is an inexhaustible source of my inspiration. Working on film sets and in live theatre, I learned a great deal about accessories and fashion details which have become my favourite aspect of costume design. During COVID quarantine, I started making handbags out of recycled plastic. My first handbag collection received really good public feedback. I created my Instagram account and named it RAW BAG®. At the time, I considered it to be a hobby, an experiment and a creative outlet.
My first bag collection got published as part of the Vogue Italia “Towards sustainable fashion” competition which I ended up winning.
On top of this, a Paris-based PR agency contacted me to feature my handbag collection in D magazine, a supplement of Italian newspaper La Repubblica.

The essence of our brand story is a search for beauty in imperfection. Our luxury, hand-crafted bags are made to order using natural leather, then manually shaped with the natural processes of water and sun.
Raw Bag® is an innovative brand that celebrates the very concept of change. Uniquely designed, your bag is intended for use in real life. It will be shaped by you. It will reflect your lifestyle. If you expose it to the sun, it will tan like your own skin. If you pack it with things, it will stretch to accommodate them. If you carry it half-empty, it will stay in its original sculpted form.
With wear and care, it will develop a natural patina that gives it charm and personality. Time will only further shape and transform it into an even more charming and unique piece. Age is beauty. And each of our bags is designed for a long and happy life, giving our customers peace of mind.
Guided by the principles of sustainability, we provide each owner of a Raw Bag® with a personalized experience while also reducing the accumulation of waste.
For us, waste is a valuable resource. We don’t reject leather if it scratches easily or if its natural veins, spots and pores are visible.
“I was always fascinated by the aesthetic of imperfection, which to me is something wonderful and unique,” says Raw Bag® designer Mirjam Krajina, whose inspiration for the designs in this collection was the shape of the crumpled paper bag.
